Event Overview
Hosted by the Hong Kong Golf Club, the Hong Kong Open has been one of the region's longest-running professional golf tournaments since it began in 1959. Originally sanctioned by the European Tour, it is now co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Asian Tour, with the champion earning ranking points on both tours.
The tournament is held each November at the Hong Kong Golf Club's Fanling Course. Organizers combine 18 holes from the Fanling and Eden courses into a Composite Course that preserves the narrow fairways and deep bunkers of a traditional links layout while adding strategic doglegs and water hazards.
Past champions include major winners such as Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose, and the event has long been a springboard for emerging Asian talent. During the four-day tournament, the Fanling course hosts a fan zone, food stalls, and autograph sessions, making it an easy outing for the whole family.

Venue Information
The Hong Kong Golf Club's Fanling course sits in Sheung Shui, in the New Territories, and covers more than 170 hectares. It comprises three 18-hole layouts — the Old Course, New Course, and Eden Course — and is Hong Kong's most iconic golf venue. Mature trees, narrow fairways, and deep bunkers define the courses, while the small, contoured greens reward accuracy over distance.
During the Hong Kong Open, organizers blend selected holes from the three courses into the Composite Course, giving fans a taste of Fanling's best holes in a single day. The club is about 10 minutes by car from Sheung Shui MTR station, and shuttle buses run to and from the city during tournament week.
